Orbital System

A horological orrery: product modules ride inclined orbits around a luminous core.

Motion
Five inclined orbits are projected in true 3D and split front-from-back around the core, so bodies pass behind it and re-emerge. Every period is an integer division of the loop — the system returns to its exact starting configuration — while a flat bezel, like a watch dial, frames the instrument and answers to the hand.

Interaction

  • Pointer tilts the whole instrument in 3D; the bezel turns against it
  • Approach a body to capture it: it swells, its orbit gilds, its label opens
  • Velocity stretches the light trails behind every body
  • Click sends a gravitational wave out from the core; scroll flies into the system
  • Canvas 2D depth-split drawing
  • Inclined orbit matrices
  • Integer-period loop locking
  • DOM labels on projected anchors
  • Proximity capture without hover state
